Baked fresh Tuna

Serves 4-6

  • 1 3/4 lbs. fresh tuna
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 large sweet onion (thinly sliced)
  • 4 med. tomatoes (peeled seeded and chopped; or 2c.canned diced tomatoes)
  • 1/2 cup dry vermouth
  • 1 tsp. dry basil, crumbled

preheat oven at 425.
Rub 1 Tbs. olive oil on tuna steaks and lightly salt and pepper.
Saute onion in 1 Tbs. of olive oil until soft. Add tomatoes and vermouth and cook briefly.Place tuna in shallow baking dish, pour mixture over top.
Bake for 12-15 min. Sprinkle with basil.
