Basic Sweet Rolls

Makes 2 doz.

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp. yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar

In large bowl combine 2c flour and yeast.
Scold milk, add sugar salt and butter. Stir to melt butter.
Add to dry mixture, then add eggs and beat until well mixed.
Stir in 1 1/2 -2 cups more of flour to make a moderately stiff dough.
Knead on floured surface, 8-10 min.
Place in a greased bowl and let rise until double, in a warm place.
Punch down, let sit for 10 min. and form into rolls.
Bake at 350 until brown.
