- 4 cups King Arthur's whole wheat white flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 cups water/vegetable broth/coconut milk
- oil, as needed
Try serving Chappatis with these other recipes:
1. Mix the flour, salt, and water together to form a very firm dough. (You may need a couple more tablespoons of water.) Turn it out on a floured surface and knead it until it is smooth and pliable. Divide it into 10 balls of dough.
2. Roll out each ball about 1/4" thick, and brush with some oil. Roll the dough up to make a taquito-looking thing, and then make a snail with the dough. Let it rest at least 15 minutes.
3. Heat some oil (I prefer ghee, but that's technically dairy) in a pan. Roll out each snail again until it is 1/4" thick again, then fry it in the pan a couple minutes on each side. Try to use a spatula or something to keep the chappati from getting too crazy with the bubbles.
4. Serve hot with something saucy.
