Easy Black Bean Burgers

Serves 6-8

  • 3 cups black beans, cooked and drained
  • 2 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs

Mix black beans, cumin, salt, and water. Mash well. Stir in bread crumbs, and wait 10 minutes while bread crumbs soften. Shape into patties and fry until browned on both sides. Unless you have a non-stick pan, this will require oil. They can also be cooked on a grill-shape into patties, and chill first to make them easier to handle.

Serve with salsa. Melt a slice of chesse on top if dairy is allowed.

Burgers may be refrigerated or frozen for later use. Shape into patties and place on waxed paper or parchment paper to prevent sticking.
