Piroshki cabbage filling

Serves 4

  • 1 cabbage (shredded very thin)
  • 3 onions
  • 1 carrot
  • salt, small amounts

Layer cabbage with small amounts of salt and let sit (this will draw some of the water out of the cabbage).
While cabbage is sitting chop 3 onions and shred 1 carrot. Saute onions, but do not brown.
Squeeze cabbage between hands to press water out. Add to the onion along with the carrot and saute until cabbage is soft, but not browned.
