Sour Cream Crumb Cake

Makes 2 Coffee Cakes

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream

Sift the dry ingredients. Cut in butter until it is like coarse meal or small peas. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this mixture.

Combine eggs, vanilla and sour cream and stir into the remainder of the dry blend.

Pour into 2 well buttered 10 inch pie pans. Brush the top of the dough with butter and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
